Never Apologize For Who You Are
I was talking to a lesbian friend of mine. An amazing person that I re-met this weekend from San Francisco.
She had this hardwon advice for young girls struggling with their sexual identity, though in retrospect,
everyone would do well to follow it:
“*Never apologize for who you are, but be careful of defining yourself with a label*
“So what happens when you fall in love with someone who isn’t exactly your “type”?
“Let’s see…
“I think love just takes over and you never really have a choice. It just takes you a while to catch up
with yourself. I guess that’s where labels get in the way- Your brain has a really hard time fitting
the new circumstance into the old way of looking at things, your old schema, as it may be.
I still can’t make rational sense out of why I still love the fucker
“hehe”
